Mud Kitchen Care Guide

RBJ Woodworks – Built to Last, Made for Play

Thank you for choosing an RBJ Woodworks Mud Kitchen! To help your kitchen stay safe, sturdy, and beautiful through every season, please follow the care tips below.

1. Placement & Setup

• Place the mud kitchen off the ground (like on pavers or a patio) to reduce moisture exposure and help it last longer.

• A bit of shade or shelter is helpful, but your kitchen is built to handle the outdoors just fine.

2. Cleaning & General Maintenance

• Wipe down regularly with a damp cloth to remove dirt and mud buildup.

• For a quick clean, you can gently hose it off.

• Avoid using harsh cleaners—mild soap and water is all you need for deeper cleaning.

3. Paint & Finish Care

• Your mud kitchen is finished with high-quality exterior latex paint for outdoor durability.

• Cedar elements, such as countertops, are pre-sealed to resist moisture and weathering.

• Check painted areas once a year for signs of wear or chipping, and touch up or repaint if needed.

• Cedar can be resealed annually with standard deck sealer if you want to maintain its color and finish.

4. Seasonal Storage (Optional)

• Although designed for the outdoors, covering or storing your mud kitchen during harsh weather—like heavy snow or long rain spells—can help extend its life.

• A simple tarp or outdoor furniture cover works well for added protection.
